The last few weeks have seen us recording some guitar, clav, and even a string quartet arranged by Richard Thayil. In a few weeks time we will be heading back down to Studio 301 Byron Bay for four full days of mixing with Paul Pilseniks (who has worked with the likes of Powder Finger, Delta Goodrem, george, the Whitlams, and Lee Kernaghan etc). We're very happy with how everything is turning out so far!
The new album's title will be announced some time next month - stay tuned!

If you want to hear all the brand new tunes live before the album is officially released, make sure you head on down to the Brisbane Jazz Club on Saturday 10th July. Doors open at 7pm, and tickets are $20.

There is just so much to do on this new album!! We still havent decided on a name, or what we're doing for the cover art... In fact, don't tell anyone but we're still finalising some lyrics! Plus there's horns, percussion, and maybe strings to go down yet! But we're having so much fun! This will be one schmicko album i think... so thanks for your patience - we are doing our best!
Cloudland residency?
Well, it's looking more promising... we've been asked back for another two in May. What can we say? Thank you so much for everyone who has come and supported us at this fully incredible classy venue! 25th November and fill the Press Club with hip groovy swingin
jazzy-jazz-jazz, and maybe a touch of festivity (being exactly a month
out from that very special day). The fun starts around 9pm,

once again we hit the Stump for some more mud and fun times! It was good
to see so many people with an October Christmas spirit for our combined
Silly Season show with Complements of Gus! Those guys are CRAZY! Make

at the Jazz Club
During
the last year, some of our most memborable performances were at the Brisbane
Jazz Club at Kangaroo Point. One time we featured
an old overhead projector as a form of visual art! On Friday 27th
Feb, we'll be back there to play some of our new tunes and have
lots of fun. We love the atmosphere and the beautiful view of the river
and city, and of course we really dig hanging with the friendly people
who come. We hope you can make it for our first 2009 Jazz Club appearence!

One of our favourite Scat songs "Squee-bu-day" often turns into a ridiculous improvisation of rhyming comentary on the weather or someone's hawaiian shirt. Recently we played at a brand new Stockland housing estate called Parkwood. You can listen to the ending of 'Squee-bu-day' from that wonderful day, on our 'bootlegs' page... Check it out!
After a hectic Christmas time, we've managed to have a few days break and a fun New Years Eve party jam night. Now we're heading to Melbourne for the Uniting Church NCYC 'Converge' Conference.
